Why we are doing 42k in August

Our little one has been hospitalised too many times to remember, and remains a patient of an undiagnosed neurological disorder that has left her with lifelong seizures, global developmental delay, and cortical vision impairment.

So we are ever so thankful to the beautiful people who have looked after us as a family in the hospital. We have spent days and days, Christmas, New Year's and Mother's Day surrounded by those four walls that seem to close in on us, but we have been cared for by the incredible nurses who have advocated for Valerie time and time again, as they care for her around the clock. We have been grateful for the doctors who continue to pick away at the mystery disorder and remind us not to give up. We have been treated so kindly by the staff, patient with our questions and gentle with our hearts. 

These 42 kilometres in the month of August are for them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
